Syria’s interim leader Ahmed al-Sharaa has promised to form an inclusive government following talks at a landmark national dialogue conference.

The conference discussed the country’s future following decades of rule from Bashar al-Assad’s regime.

But, what does this mean for the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces who were not present at the talks?

In the north-east of the country, Syrian Kurds have faced years of conflict with neighbouring Turkey – and it is a battle they are still fighting.
