Archaeologists working in Pompeii have unearthed a series of rare, almost life-size paintings known as frescoes.
The paintings depict Dionysus – the god of wine-making – and the dig has also uncovered 50 rooms in the ancient Roman city.
Pompeii was buried in an eruption from Mount Vesuvius in AD79.
