"Yeah. I think what Michel Franco has done with this movie is to explore the ambiguities in in all of us. You know, that what might look good could be bad and vice versa. And I think that it deals with an exploration of power imbalance, whether love and exploitation can coexist. And of course, the disparity between the haves and the have nots. And I was very proud to be a part of it."

"Well it’s telling people to be fair and to keep an eye on how immigrants are treated in the States and all over the world. But of course, as a Mexican, the particular story I’m telling is about a Mexican immigrant."

STORYLINE:
"Dreams," starring Jessica Chastain and directed by Mexican filmmaker Michel Franco premiered Saturday in Berlin. It is in competition for the festival’s top prize, the Golden Bear.
Isaac Hernández stars as a Mexican ballet dancer (Hernández is a dancer in real life, for the American Ballet Theatre) who crosses the border in the U.S. to pursue his career dreams in San Francisco, believing his lover will support him.
But as the dancer begins an affair with a wealthy socialite (Jessica Chastain), ambition and love clash with harsh realities and he must face the true nature of his previous relationship.
British actor Rupert Friend also stars in the movie.
The 75th annual Berlin International Film Festival runs through 23 February 2025.
