"We have to wait for the nominations to come out before we know what the top five films were because all the designs are based around them. So basically that comes out about three weeks before the actual award ceremony so it’s a creative, kind of, explosion one we know, putting together the ideas that have to work to express the films that are nominated but also for them to work as a design group within the room. And we have to think about the colors, and also the shapes that we are doing and how this will make a really elegant dining experience. And every year we try and do something a little bit different so people are always coming into a new experience when they come to the space."

"Being in a brutalist building for our actual award ceremony was quite cool and actually when you see ‘The Brutalist’ and then you come into the Southbank you kind of really enjoy the architecture in the space and for that reason, I really love that."

STORYLINE:
The red carpet has been rolled out ready for Sunday’s BAFTA Film Awards.
The event takes place at the Royal Festival Hall on London’s Southbank and will be hosting nominees like Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Selena Gomez and Timothée Chalamet.
After the ceremony, film stars will be making their way to dinner and dancing at the official afterparty in another part of the building.
On each dining table there will be a decorative lamp that is styled to represent one of the five best film nominees; "The Brutalist," "Conclave," "A Complete Unknown," "Emilia Perez" and "Anora."
Amanda Davis is the creative director behind the party pieces, something she’s been doing for the last 24 years
This year she especially enjoyed designing ‘The Brutalist’ lamp, as the Royal Festival Hall is itself a Brutalist building.
The 78th BAFTA Film Awards will be hosted once again by David Tennant, where "Conclave" is leading the nominations.
