STORYLINE:
The relatives of hostages still being held in Gaza called on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to secure the second phase of a ceasefire deal which would see the remaining captives released.

Earlier on Saturday, Israel and Hamas completed the sixth exchange of hostages and hundreds of Palestinian prisoners with just over two weeks remaining in the initial phase of their fragile Gaza ceasefire.

Zahiro Shahar Mor, nephew of hostage Avraham Munder, thanked U.S. President Donald Trump for what he said were his efforts in reuniting the freed captives with their families.

"We can breathe a sigh of relief," he added.

But he urged the U.S. president to push forward with the second phase of the ceasefire and guide Netanyahu to agree to the deal.

A tense dispute earlier in the week threatened to derail the ceasefire and renew the fighting in Gaza.

Trump’s proposal to remove the territory’s over 2 million Palestinians and settle them elsewhere in the region also shook the truce.

The ceasefire faces a bigger challenge with the first phase concluding in early March.

There have not been substantive negotiations over the second phase, in which Hamas would release all remaining hostages in return for ending the war.
