The occupation is the one that came to us. We did not go to them. We are the owners of the land and the place and everything in it."

"The destruction is huge, it is immense. You can say that there is no life, but we insist on life. We insist on rebuilding our homes. As for Trump’s plan, he wants to scatter us across Arab countries. We do not want to be deported. Everyone knows that Palestine is for the Palestinians. We did not intrude on anyone, and we do not want to go anywhere else. We are rooted in our land, and we will rebuild it, God willing, with the efforts of our sons and the enthusiasm of our brothers who will help us."

"As you can see, the destruction and the catastrophe we face because of the occupying, usurping army. But despite all this, we want to live, we want to continue our lives. Life must continue. Despite the destruction, we will rehabilitate anything possible. We have set up a tent. We will get water one day, and we may not get it the next day. As for food, we live on canned food and aid. Life will continue. Despite what Trump is doing and the statements that he is making, we are continuing, and our determination is strong to rebuild this land because this is our land, and we will not be able to abandon it."

STORYLINE:
Palestnians in Gaza renewed their rejection of U.S. President Donald Trump’s repeated remarks that the U.S. would take control of the Palestinian enclave.
Trump said Sunday he was "committed to buying and owning Gaza… There’s nothing to move back into. The place is a demolition site. The remainder will be demolished."
Israel last week said it has begun preparations for the departure of Palestinians from Gaza despite international rejection of Trump’s initial remarks on a plan to empty the territory of its population.
