2. SOUNDBITE (English) Donald Sturz, President, Westminster Kennel Club:
"When you’re judging at Westminster on any level, it’s unlike any other judging experience, and especially when you get to judge in the groups for the best in show ring. And now that we’re back in Madison Square Garden, walk out onto the floor of the world’s most famous arena. And the world is watching. And and you do have a moment where like, my God, you know, what am I going to do?"
3. Tight of Fiona’s face UPSOUND (English) Donald Sturz, President , Westminster Kennel Club: "And they are supposed to be known for their courageousness and fearlessness as they trotted around the palace."
4. Tight of Fiona playing in hotel room
5. Medium of Fiona on table. UPSOUND (English) Donald Sturz, President, Westminster Kennel Club:
"And so when the judge first comes up, they’re going to be looking at the head, as I was saying, and they’re looking at the eye, the shape of the eye, this nice broad head."
6. SOUNDBITE (English) Donald Sturz, President, Westminster Kennel Club:
"Then you would check for the fact that they should have a very short neck. So you’re going to feel like that. You’re going to feel for shoulder placement. You’re going to feel for spring of rib."
7. Medium of Fiona standing and panting. UPSOUND (English) Donald Sturz, President, Westminster Kennel Club:
"They’re much wider in front. And narrower behind. It’s kind of pear shaped.
8. Tight of Fiona standing and panting. UPSOUND (English) Donald Sturz, President, Westminster Kennel Club:
"And then a level top line, high tail set, beautiful tail plume, coat texture."
9. SOUNDBITE (English) Donald Sturz, President, Westminster Kennel Club:
"And then the hind quarter should be narrower than the front. So the judge would feel for that. And there you have it. And the last thing that they would do in examining a Pekingese would be the lift, because they’ll say they should pick up heavy, meaning they are toy dogs, so you should be surprised when you lift her up that she’s actually as heavy as she is because of her body substance and bones."
10. Fiona playing with toy in New Yorker hotel hallway. UPSOUND (English) Donald Sturz, President , Westminster Kennel Club: "Good girl. Good girl. What do you got? Good girl."
11. SOUNDBITE (English) Donald Sturz, President, Westminster Kennel Club:
"They’re known for their roll. That roll comes from that body construction that I was talking about, that heavy front, that narrow rear. It’s almost like watching, I joke, because It’s kind of like watching like a thick set rugby player kind of walking down the field."
12. Wide of Fiona and Sturtz walking down hallway
13. Tight of Fiona sitting on table. UPSOUND (English) Donald Sturz, President, Westminster Kennel Club:

14. Medium of Sturz holding Fiona
15. SOUNDBITE (English) Donald Sturz, President, Westminster Kennel Club:
"It’s a great dog having a great night. That’s what determines the best in show winner at Westminster. There’s just something that that dog brings that night that just put them a notch above, you know, the other great dogs in the ring."
