Eggs are a staple in Americans’ diet, but this once cheap source of healthy protein has gotten quite expensive. Food scientists in the US and Italy want to make sure none of your eggs go to waste and have been testing out ways to make the perfect boiled one. Experts say the best boiled eggs have a just-so-soft yolk and a just-so-firm white. The challenge in achieving this is that many methods are only good for the white or the yolk.
