Prototype Race Car is Powered by Sewage

Engineers from the UK’s University of Warwick have developed a prototype vehicle that runs on clean energy that’s derived from a dirty source: hydrogen made from sewage. The team uses sewage treatment technology where microbes feed on waste then produce hydrogen as a by-product. That’s the hydrogen that the car uses for fuel. Formula 1 has already taken strides to become more sustainable by pledging to make the sport carbon neutral by 2030.
