1. Various of Alliance Flueve Congo/M23 leader Corneille Nangaa (white beard) and other M23 leaders arriving for press briefing
2. SOUNDBITE (English) Corneille Nangaa, AFC/ M23 Leader:
"Our objective is Congo, we are fighting for Congo. We are not fighting for minerals, we are not fighting for anything (else), what you say Balkanization. It is not a word that deserves to be noted in our struggle. We are struggling today for three main reasons. The first reason is that there is no state in DRC. Tshisekedi regime has destroyed the army, has destroyed the national police, he as destroyed administration and above all he has destroyed justice. No investor can come to Congo and for this matter, you can note that Congo has become a danger because of all the negative armed groups. All of them are coming into Congo and today you can count about twenty countries present in DRC. Uganda is in Congo, Burundi is in Congo, South Africa is in Congo, Tanzania is in Congo, Malawi is in Congo, you have a lot of European mercenaries in Congo. You have also those negative forces like FDLR, you also have ADF – those terrorists from Uganda. All of them are in Congo because in Congo there is not a state. And we are going to remain in danger as long as there is no state."
3. Various of M23 soldiers on truck
4. SOUNDBITE (English) Corneille Nangaa, AFC/ M23 Leader:
"I encourage him (Felix Tshisekedi) to continue fighting, but we are going to fight him until we get to Kinshasa."
5. M23 soldier standing guard
6. SOUNDBITE (English) Corneille Nangaa, AFC/ M23 Leader:
"I was the chairperson of the electoral commission at that time and I know that he (Tshisekedi) did not win. For many reasons and for peace, he got there. But I know and can assume (admit) that it was a very big mistake. I have to change this mistake, so far as I am the one who created the devil, I am going to defeat him. This is also one of the reasons why we are fighting."

7. SOUNDBITE (English) Corneille Nangaa, AFC/ M23 Leader:
"We are going to struggle until we restore democracy, but for all this our project is (a good) name. From a failed state to a modern state whereby we want to make Congo as a business land. Living in peace, common interests, we have to live in peace in Congo, reconcile with ourselves, but also be with peace within the whole (East African) region. This is why we are fighting. Looking at the resources, I do not know, we do not know what it is about. This is propaganda from Kinshasa."

8. SOUNDBITE (English) Corneille Nangaa, AFC/ M23 Leader:
"The Congolese crisis today is a Congolese one. Those people who are looking to externalise the crisis, is propaganda and they just lie. We are Congolese, we need to do what we call the war economy. What does it mean? It means that we can choose to fight, you and me, because we have a problem, but we can also just choose to talk. We are open to any discussion, but a discussion should be between Kinshasa regime and our organization. Direct discussions, we are open to. By the way, for these discussions, we think they should be facilitated by our African wise people, wise men. But maybe by our spiritual fathers who are in Kinshasa, it means the bishops, because they have done it before in 2018 and 2016. This is feasible, we are open to that. One question remains, because this guy is a liar, Tshisekedi. We would need a guarantee to know that what is the guarantee that if we talk, he will abide by whatever he has signed."
