8. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Ne’man Abu Jarad, displaced from Beit Lahiya, returning home:
“Fatigue, suffering and a rough road. The occupation did not leave anything without destroying it. We walked about 3 kilometres, and we need to walk another 6 or 7 kilometres. We might reach Beit Lahiya on foot. I don’t think we will find transportation. We might walk until nightfall. Every so often we take a break, and I feel sorry for my sons and daughters, the children, who continue to walk on the road. Every so often we have to get rid of some of the things we carry in order to continue on our way. We even left the bread and food we brought with us. We got rid of the water because we couldn’t carry it.”
