Flight Aborted Landing at DC Airport Day Before Plane Crash

A day before the fatal collision between a Black Hawk helicopter and a plane, a Republic Airlines flight approaching Reagan National Airport aborted a landing to avoid colliding with a helicopter. The Washington, D.C. airport is so congested that the average delay is over an hour. Virginia Senator Tim Kaine warned Congress of the chaos at Reagan National Airport a year ago.
