"I think it’s making a statement without making a statement. It’s like really showing there’s something very, very cool without making it obvious. It’s effortlessness. Very elegant. I love French men."

Noah Beck: "You know what, that’s really funny. Every time I come to France, that’s like the first thing that’s like an immediate like culture shift from the U.S. to France. I would say
it’s a lot more coats and some more, like timeless, almost toned back on the branding. It’s more simplistic and it’s more, there’s a lot of layering here, but it is also cold, so that would make sense. But yeah, I would say that."

STORYLINE:
As an international fashion crowd gathered in Paris for the latest menswear and haute couture collections, The Associated Press asked, is it possible to spot a Frenchman, purely by the way he is dressed?
Several attendees at the Louis Vuitton menswear Fall-Winter 2025-2026 show believe that it is.
Entrepreneur Alisa Volskaya thinks well-dressed French men have a unique way of "making a statement without making a statement."
"It’s like really showing there’s something very, very cool without making it obvious. It’s effortlessness. Very elegant," she added. "I love French men."
Reserved Essential’s Mateo Berry belongs to the school of thought which says French men choose a dark palette.
"A lot of black," he smiled. "A lot of black and the cigarette that they’re smoking with the black, of course."
Louis Vuitton attendee Puria said she has also spotted a trend in the way French men dress.
"Usually looks very formal and respectable, like buttoned up, suit and tie, colored shirt, lovely hat," she mused. "They’re very into accessories, that’s why I appreciate French people, I love their style and the way they dress."
