(28 Oct 1976) RR7643B FISHING OVER THE LIMIT?
Talks between Common Market countries, aimed at settling on a common fisheries policy have broken down. Although all are agreed on a two hundred mile limit inside which only EEC vessels will be allowed to fish, Eire and the UK want an inner fifty mile limit around their coastlines for their own exclusive use. Their fishermen claim that "super-trawlers" from other countries are seriously depleting their inshore fish stocks. Roving Report looks at the fishermen, their way of life and the inevitable disagreements between them.
