This season a sanitized, bright white staircase as if descending from the heavens themselves, formed the mouth of the runway. Setting the dramatic stage for models showcasing Kim Jones’s latest vision. This collection reflected a new minimalist direction, leaning into a sharper, more masculine aesthetic while then nodding to the house’s couture heritage, a departure from its recent gender fluid designs. Jones here presented a refined paired down elegance, with silhouettes ranging from tailored opera capes borrowed from Dior’s womenswear collection to angular coats that fuzed traditional with contemporary edges. Moments of provocation, of course, punctuated the show. Model’s eyes, banded with silk In marked with Dior, a subtle nod to the storied dandyism of figures like Casanova. Intricate hand embroidered glass beads, motifs reminiscent of raindrops elevated the show’s quiet luxury. Kim Jones here has yet again proven his ability to merge the house’s rich legacy with the demands of modern masculinity, all against the backdrop as grand as the designs themselves."
