"Yeah, I was inside my car with my daughters and wife and my nomination was first and my name was first. And after that, she start screaming and crying. And after that, I lose everything. All nominations after that I lose because she’s just crying and it’s a very emotional moment I can say, for everybody."

2. SOUNDBITE (English) Yura Borisov, actor – on the theme of "Anora":
"Connection and connection between people, between mentalities and nationalities and cultures. Especially today because I think that it’s possible this connection between everybody of us. Of course, it’s not easy. I know, and everybody knows, but it’s possible. And during this shoot I feel this – that we are different but at the same time we’re absolutely similar. And I feel that humans and the most important things are similar and I feel everybody of us like children and souls, you know. For me, it’s about connection between souls, and it’s possible."

STORYLINE:
Yura Borisov was in the car with his wife and daughters in Moscow when he learned he was nominated for his first Academy Award.
Borisov is nominated in the best supporting actor category for his work in "Anora."
He is the first Russian to be nominated for an Oscar since Mikhail Baryshnikov was nominated for "The Turning Point" in 1977.
In his category, Borisov is competing with Kieran Culkin ("A Real Pain"), Jeremy Strong ("The Apprentice"), Edward Norton ("A Complete Unknown") and Guy Pearce ("The Brutalist").
The Oscars will be handed out March 2nd in Los Angeles.
