DeepSeek’s LLM appears to match or even beat its competitors at a fraction of the cost. And DeepSeek is by far not the only AI model coming out of China. Alibaba’s Qwen and Bytedance’s Doubao are other examples of competitors catching up with American companies like OpenAI.
