STORYLINE:
On Monday, President Donald Trump pardoned, commuted the prison sentences or vowed to dismiss the cases of all of the 1,500-plus people charged with crimes in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.
People gathered outside a detention center in Washington, DC on Tuesday to support those being released.
“People like us don’t get presidential pardons because we don’t donate, you know, in the past years, I’m not saying it’s all corrupt, but it’s mostly corrupt. Hunter Biden got a presidential pardon. You know what I’m saying? And people are freaking out about us getting a presidential pardon? Please,” Loftus said.
Now that Loftus is free, he said his first meal will be a porterhouse steak.
When asked about the action from President Trump, one of the rioters, William Sarsfield thanked God.
“It means that the power of prayer is continued and full-hearted, and that if we come together, there’s nothing that can stop us. We have to join forces and quit being divided,” Sarsfield said.
