(20 Apr 1973) RR7316A ERTS-1: MAPPING THE WORLD FROM SPACE
With the launching of the world’s first Earth Resources
Technology Satellite (ERTS-1), in July 1972, scientists
acquired an important tool in their study of Man’s
environement and its problems. Scanning virtually
every part of the globe every 18 days, ERTS-1 can
provide up to date information on environmental
problems that are not apparent on the ground.
