ICC: Taliban behind crimes against women | DW News

The International Criminal Court’s chief prosecutor Karim Khan has announced he is seeking arrest warrants aganist senior Taliban leaders in Afghanistan over the persecution of women. Since the Afghan Taliban took control of Kabul in 2021, they have issued dozens of decrees that restrict women from public life and education. ICC chief Khan has said that Afghan women and girls, as well as the LGBTQ community, were ”facing an unprecedented, unconscionable and ongoing persecution by the Taliban.”
