STORYLINE:
Yemenis demonstrated in Sanaa on Friday in support of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip after a ceasefire deal was announced between Israel and Hamas.

Activist Ibrahim al-Obaidi was one of thousands at the demonstration and said "this presence is the biggest role that was played by our Yemeni people for 15 Fridays."

Tens of thousands of protesters have been participating in weekly demonstrations in Sanaa to show solidarity with Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

They were seen carrying rifles, Palestinian and Yemeni flags as well as chanting anti-American and anti-Israel slogans.

Israel’s security cabinet has recommended approving a deal that would pause the fighting in Gaza and release dozens of hostages held by militants.

The deal will now go to the full cabinet for approval before the ceasefire goes into effect. The prime minister’s office said that if a deal is passed, the ceasefire could start Sunday with the first hostages released.
