"It’s been a while, you know. There are no rules in the film industry, but people tend to look for rules. So, you follow trends and you follow what other people are doing in order to…. But the smart ones and some of the interesting actors make their own rules and they say, ‘No, no,’ you know. And they, they’ve caught onto things to entertain the audience that are not, you know, public knowledge. Like, ‘How do I make this role special? Look, the film is fine, the script is fine. But what about this character? OK. So I’ll put on lots of weight and then I lose it’ like Ahmed does or did or like Brando did. So you have to come up with something else, which you can only do if there’s only one film happening. So you have to – I think that’s the beauty of acting. And it’s taken us a while as an industry to get there. But now that we’re there, it’s our duty to carry that forward, where you say, ‘How do I make this? What is the most remarkable physical kind of characteristic about this role? What do I do for this?’ That just to stand out as a, which you can only do if that’s all you’re doing. And that’s the way it should be."

STORYLINE:
Indian Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan was stabbed in a scuffle with an intruder at his home early Thursday and underwent surgery at a hospital, media reports said.
The 54-year-old actor was taken to the hospital from his home in Mumbai, the country’s financial and entertainment capital, where he lives with his movie star wife Kareena Kapoor and two sons.
Two of the six wounds were deep, with one near his spine, the Press Trust of India news agency cited a doctor at Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital as saying.
Indian media quoted police as saying the intruder barged into the house at about 2:30 a.m. and fled after stabbing Khan. A female employee at Khan’s home was also injured during the attack and was being treated, they said.
Police are investigating and have launched a search for the attacker.
Kapoor, Khan’ wife, said in a statement that his family was fine and requested “the media and fans to be patient and not speculate any further as the police is already doing their due investigations.”
