STORYLINE:
In central Gaza at least six people were killed in strikes that hit an area where displaced people live in tents, officials said.
Two women and their four children, between 1 month and 9 years old, were killed in the strikes in Deir al-Balah.
One woman – a mother of two boys who were killed — was pregnant. The other woman was killed together with her daughter and son.
The information was confirmed by Al Aqsa Martyrs hospital in Deir al Balah, which received the bodies.
Several Israeli strikes hit the Gaza Strip overnight and early on Tuesday while Israel and Hamas appear to be inching closer to a phased ceasefire agreement.
However, a deal hasn’t been reached yet and there are a number of obstacles that could still scupper the talks in Qatar.
The Israel Hamas-war has killed more than 46,000 Palestinians in Gaza, according to health authorities there.
Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza began on October 7, 2023, when militants stormed into southern Israel and killed about 1,200 people and abducted around 250.
A third of the 100 hostages still held in Gaza are believed to be dead.
