Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has given his first public address since his goverment approved a ceasefire agreement with Hamas militants. He stressed that the agreement is only temporary and that Israel’s military is ready to resume fighting if it deems it necessary. Earlier Netanyahu said the deal would not go ahead unless Hamas provided the names of the first Israeli hostages it will be releasing.
