RESTRICTION SUMMARY: NO USE BY BBC PERSIAN, VOA PERSIAN, MANOTO TV, IRAN INTERNATIONAL
++The Associated Press is adhering to Iranian law that stipulates all media are banned from providing BBC Persian, VOA Persian, Manoto TV and Iran International any coverage from Iran, and under this law if any media violate this ban the Iranian authorities can immediately shut down that organisation in Tehran.++

STORYLINE:
Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman said on Monday that the French ambassador to Tehran has been summoned and cautioned over meetings with an exiled opposition group.
The ambassador was "given a caution regarding hosting terrorism and supporting terrorist groups," spokesman Esmail Baghaei said during a regular briefing.
Baghaei was referring to an Iranian opposition event held in Paris on Saturday, attended by Keith Kellogg, who is going to serve as President-elect Donald Trump’s special envoy for Ukraine.
The event was held by MEK or Mujahedeen-e-Khalq group, which Iran calls a terrorist group.
The MEK began as a Marxist group opposing the shah’s rule.
It claimed and was suspected in a series of attacks against U.S. officials in Iran in the 1970s, something the group now denies.
It supported the 1979 Islamic Revolution, but soon had a falling out with Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini and turned against the cleric.
It carried out a series of assassinations and bombings targeting the young Islamic Republic.
The MEK later fled into Iraq and backed dictator Saddam Hussein during his bloody eight-year war against Iran in the 1980s.
That saw many oppose the group in Iran.
Although largely based in Albania, the group claims to operate a network inside Iran.
On nuclear talks with the West, Baghaei said: "negotiations are not something we’d beg for. It’s a two-way road."
Separately, Baghaei congratulated Lebanon after the Lebanese parliament elected army commander Joseph Aoun as president.
Lebanon’s parliament voted on Thursday to elect Aoun as head of state, filling a more than two-year-long presidential vacuum.
"We hope that this election results in improvements in Lebanon," Baghaei said.
