Remains of WWII Airman Identified After 80 Years

An airman killed in a WWII battle will finally be laid to rest. Loring E. Lord served as a staff sergeant in the US Army Air Force during WWII. During a bombing mission over Germany in March of 1945, Lord’s aircraft was hit by heavy anti-aircraft fire. It took until 2018 for the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency to find bone fragments and other identifiers for the crew of this plane. Staff Sgt. Loring E. Lord will be officially laid to rest in his home state of Massachusetts.
