Israel’s security cabinet agrees to six-week ceasefire deal in Gaza | DW News

Israel’s security cabinet has agreed to the six-week ceasefire deal in Gaza – the full cabinet is now meeting to vote on the deal’s terms.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says final details have been ironed out, after previously claiming that Hamas had back-tracked on parts of the agreement.

Far-right national security minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has threatened to resign if the ceasefire is approved. Netanyahu says some hostages still held by Hamas could be freed as early as Sunday.
