It might not be the most high-tech device on display at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, but a small “portable robot” that clips on cups and cools down warm beverages is causing a stir.

STORYLINE:

Tokyo-based robotics startup Yukai Engineering unveiled this “Nékojita FuFu” portable robot at CES.

Using a fan, it blows on hot drinks or food to cool it down.

It’s designed to help children and people who have a highly heat-sensitive tongue.

Using an internal fan, the small robot generates cool “breath” and has a special algorithm that randomizes its blowing strength and rhythm, the way humans might.

Shunsuke Aoki from Yukai Engineering says the portable robot can cool down a hot cup of coffee in just three minutes.
