"So, this basically allows you to carbonate water in a reusable water bottle. So, a common vacuum insulated water bottle. We’ve added a little bit more technology to the bottle. We call it the ultimate carbonation bottle. The interior is polished so that it retains carbonation much longer. It also has an extra technology of insulation to ensure that you’re getting that cold, bubbly water for a long time."

“So, you basically thread our lid, the Soda Top, onto our bottle and then we’re using beverage grade CO2 canisters that will install into the slot on top. And then, we use an actuating lid. And then, I’ll twist this down. And then, once you carbonate into the twisting into the bubble zone, you’ll hear gas escape through here, through our pressure relief valves, that just makes sure that we have the proper pressure profile within the bottle. So, I’ll carbonate some water now. So, it takes about five seconds and then we have our pressure release button. That’s just to give the user an indicator that your bottle is still pressurized. Completely safe to remove the lid now. But it just gives you a nice tactile feel when you undo the bottle. So, we can enjoy some sparkling water now.”

"We have some of the appliances that are more countertop units. We all live in New York. We have limited counter space. So, I think the much shrunk in size is a definite benefit for us. And then it also allows you to take it on the go, so you can carbonated wherever you’re at, you’re no longer needing to pop in to a convenience store to get a bottle of soda. You can now bring this with you and carbonate wherever you are. All you need to bring in some canisters and then you can carbonate."

At CES 2025 in Las Vegas, a new, portable soda stream is making fizzy drinks on-the-go, in just seconds.
STORYLINE:
Roam’s SodaTop is powered by a portable carbonator that fits in the palm of your hand.
It’s fixed on top of the company’s triple-insulated stainless steel water bottle, which claims to keep drinks cold for about 24 hours.
Roam says the system can carbonate up to one litre of water in under five seconds.
Tucker Jones from Roam says the technology eliminates the need for bulky kitchen systems and large CO2 canisters.
