"Yeah, it’s a good question, I think. The boundary pushing-ness of the film comes from such an, I think, an integrity filled intention, which is kind of giving life to the Dozier school boys whose lives were cut short and suffered a bunch of trauma. And so when you’re doing something, I think with so much intent, you’re actually not burdened with perception because the act itself and the product you’re making stands on its own. And so all this is just a bonus."
