Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter’s casket departs The Carter Center after the completion of memorial services in his native Georgia. Carter’s remains will arrive in Washington, D.C., where he will lie in state in the Capitol Rotunda until his funeral on Thursday at the Washington National Cathedral. The Carter family then will return to bury its patriarch in Plains, Georgia, after a private hometown funeral.
