Underneath Mount Qasioun, the highest point overlooking Damascus, is a network of tunnels over 12 square kilometres allegedly connecting the Republican Guard HQ to the presidential palace. Footage captured by The AP showed the sprawling complex, containing rusty munitions, barracks and heavy weapons.
