"My son has kidney disease. I got a rejection for his transfer (for treatment) twice. Since the beginning of the war, we have applied for him to go out for treatment. He is undergoing dialysis. He is 10 years old. I received a rejection from the Jews (Israel). The boy is sick. He gets dialysis three to four times a week and he received approval for the Emirates, but his mother was rejected. So we had to have his sister go with him. But his sister who is going with him does not know anything about him or what his medications are. And he has special needs. No one can deal with him except his mother, and his mom was repeatedly rejected. So I had to have his sister go and she does not know anything about him."

"He never moved away from me. I don’t know how they will deal with him. I tried with more than one party to get help so that I can accompany my son, but I get rejections and we don’t know what the reason is."

STORYLINE:
Palestinian health authorities said 45 patients and wounded people have been evacuated on Tuesday for treatment outside the war-torn Gaza Strip.
They left the European Hospital in the southern city of Khan Younis early Tuesday.
The patients are accompanied by over 100 of their relatives, according to the hospital.
Among the patients getting evacuated was a 10-year-old boy, Abdullah Abu Yusuf, who has kidney failure.
His mother Abeer Abu Yusuf said her application to join him was rejected, so her son will have to be accompanied by his sister during his journey for treatment.
"He never moved away from me. I don’t know how they will deal with him. I tried with more than one party to get help so that I can accompany my son, but I get rejections," Abu Yusuf said as she cried.
Israel’s war in Gaza has killed more than 45,500 people, over half of them women and children, according to the territory’s Health Ministry. Its count does not differentiate between combatants and civilians.
The Oct. 7, 2023 attack by Hamas militants that sparked the war killed some 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and abducted around 250, including women, children and older adults.
Around 100 are still inside Gaza, at least a third believed to be dead.
Israel’s bombardment and ground operations have displaced some 90% of Gaza’s population of 2.3 million, often multiple times.
Vast areas are in ruins, with critical infrastructure destroyed.
