Teen Accused of Poisoning Rival’s Goat to Win Competition

Aubrey Vanlandingham is accused of deliberately poisoning a 6-month-old goat named Willy to eliminate a competitor in a Future Farmers of America competition. Police say they have surveillance video showing the teen entering the goat’s pen and force-feeding it with a large syringe. The goat died 21 hours later. An autopsy showed the cause of death to be poisoning from a commonly used farm pesticide. Vanlandingham is charged with cruelty to livestock animals in connection with the death of the goat.
