"The Mescals, we… No. I’m not telling you. We’re going to hang out and be around each other."

"Yeah, little secrets."
(Reporter: "Are there any routines that you guys do?")
"Oh no, there’s nothing, we just have Christmas dinner. I think it’s, the main thing is that we don’t get to spend a huge amount of time with each other so that’s going to be nice. Three, four days, whatever we get. Something to look forward to."
4. SOUNDBITE (English) Denzel Washington, actor:
"Yeah, that’s a good question for my wife. She loves that. And, you know, as soon as we finish the tour, you know, Thanksgiving starts and get the house, you know, done and decorated and, you know, and leave a letter. I shouldn’t give this away. Someone in our, one of our children still writes the letter for Santa. I won’t say which one."
(Reporter: "Oh my gosh.")
"And then, of course, Santa answers. And then there’s. I think… I forgot how it goes. He leaves. You leave him something? You leave him something and it’s missing the next day."

(Reporter: "Release two massive films and then celebrate Christmas, that seems about right.")

"I love Christmas movies. I love Christmas movies. And I like, you know, the classic Christmas movies like ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’ and all that. And then I agree with many that ‘Die Hard’ is also a great Christmas movie. I count… I like unusual Christmas movies. There’s a great movie called ‘The Blast of Silence.’ It’s a weird B noir Christmas movie. I like the occasion of like when there’s an event, you know, a holiday and stuff, and there’s all these movies that kind of arrange around that theme. So it’s good for movie marathons."
(Reporter: "Yeah, you’re a really big film guy then if you can’t wait for Christmas, can’t wait to watch more films.")
"I was born in the winter. I like the winter. I like… Yeah, cosy bundling up all the time. Exactly. Sweater season."

"So many. So many. We have the rice almond pudding, which has a whole almond in it. And so everyone is very careful that they’re not chewing the whole almond because there is an almond gift and that is the dessert. And those that gift and standing up in the cupboard and all, everyone like the whole dinner is like looking at it like, ‘I hope I win the almond gift.’"

STORYLINE:
With a worldwide haul of over $350 million USD against an estimated budget of around $250 million USD, the cast and crew of swords and sandals epic "Gladiator II" have plenty of reasons to celebrate over the holiday period.
For Oscar-winning actor Denzel Washington, that means heading back to his family after travelling around the whole promoting the movie, and enjoying Christmas with his loved ones.
