Malibu wildfire explodes in Southern California

A brush fire that broke out Monday in Malibu Canyon has led to mandatory evacuation orders in parts of Southern California, authorities said.

The so-called Franklin Fire had spread to over 2,500 acres as of Tuesday morning, according to fire officials.

Crews are battling the fire amid dangerous Santa Ana wind conditions in the area, which are expected to remain a threat.
