Around one in three children in Pakistan is out of school, and the situation is even more challenging for children from Pashtun communities. With about 23 million people, they make up the country’s second-largest ethnic group. Pashtuns often live in remote areas that receive little government attention. As a result, literacy rates in those regions are among the lowest in the country
