And that’s why people are finding strength in themselves and they are still coming out despite the brutal and violent acts of the government. We are still here and we will be here until we achieve our goals which is the European Union and free Georgia."

STORYLINE:
Thousands of protesters gathered outside the Georgian parliament on Thursday for the eighth night running as they continued to voice their anger at the government’s decision to suspend EU accession talks.
More than 300 protesters have been detained and 100 injured since the demonstrations began last week.
Riot police have used water cannons and tear gas to disperse crowds of protesters who have built barricades and shot fireworks at officers on Tbilisi’s central boulevard.
Demonstrator, Mariam Boshadze, said she had been taking to the streets every night with protesters for the past eight days.
"Despite the brutal and violent acts of the government, we are still here and we will be here until we achieve our goals which is the European Union and free Georgia," she added.
The crackdown has drawn strong condemnation from the United States and EU officials.
Speaking Thursday at a ministerial conference of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken denounced what he described as "brutal repression" of Georgian protesters.
