"We saw two more tragic reminders for the conditions that the hostages are held in the tunnels. Yesterday, Itay Svirsky was brought to Israel. Itay was murdered by his captivities (captors) in January, after 99 days because of the military pressure, some mission, military mission that was nearby, his terrorist that kept him was stressed and then they shot him. And we saw the conclusions of the investigation of the six hostages that were murdered in January in the tunnels. They were murdered also because of a military operation nearby."

STORYLINE:
For families of hostages held in the Gaza Strip, the news from Israel’s Shin Bet domestic security service Wednesday that Israeli forces recovered the body of a hostage held in Gaza was another proof of the need to secure a deal to release them all immediately.
Itay Svirsky was captured alive from southern Israel during Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023 attack.
Israel believes that he was killed while in captivity by his captors who held on to his body.
The Shin Bet did not disclose details of the mission to recover Svirsky’s body.
During its attack, Hamas killed 1,200 people and kidnapped 250. Israel believes roughly 100 remain in Gaza, about a third of whom are dead.
Most of the other hostages seized by Hamas were released during a ceasefire last year.
The Israeli military also said that an investigation into the deaths of six hostages whose bodies were recovered from Gaza earlier this year determined that they were likely shot and killed by their captors in an underground tunnel after an Israeli strike hit nearby.

We cannot wait to Trump to get into the White House", said Eyal Kalderon, cousin of Ofer Kalderon, who is a hostage kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Oz and a father to four.
Two of his children were kidnapped with him and released during last year’s deal.
