Ghana elections dominated by concerns over worst economic crisis in a generation | DW News

Polls have closed and vote-counting is underway in Ghana’s presidential and parliamentary elections. The vote is largely a contest between the current Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia of the ruling New Patriotic Party and John Dramani Mahama of the main opposition National Democratic Congress Party. But many Ghanaians feel the leading candidates offer little hope for change, as the country struggles with its worst economic crisis in a generation.
