I started there because it was what was available to me in Miami. But not only that. Like, I grew up watching telenovelas, but I also grew up watching, you know, ‘Full House’ and ‘Family Matters’ after school, you know, that’s what I grew up with. I didn’t know that that they were different in any way. But as I started with the novellas, I realized that – they actually taught me that it evolved from radio soap operas, so it had to be acted as if you’re on mute and if you, if they’re in the other room and they’re hearing what’s going on. So that’s why it’s always that stereotype of it’s so the top. Granted, it’s changed and evolved in a lot of these years and they’re more modernized."

“But at the same time, drama is drama and it will hook anyone. If I see a telenovela now, I mean, like it just takes probably 20 minutes and I’m like, ‘oh my god, what’s going on?”
