French lawmakers have passed a motion of no-confidence to topple Prime Minister Michel Barnier’s government.
The fall of his three-month-old cabinet is likely to deepen France’s political crisis. The country has been reeling from a polarizing snap-election that left the parliament divided into three blocks, none of which has a majority. This result risks leaving France without a government or a budget as it enters the new year. The no-confidence motion was supported by left-wing and far-right lawmakers.
