(asked about general chances in the first game against Holland despite Lewandwski missing this game due to injury)
“Of course Robert (Lewandowski) is out, but we have to know that Robert is not the whole team. With regard to the chances in the match against Holland…of course they have good players. They have players who know how to play football, but when you look at our players and their individual qualities I believe we make up a good team and we can play a good match against Holland. We know how to play football too, and that is how we approach it.”
19. 02:52 SOUNDBITE (POLISH) Karol Swiderski:
(asked about general chances in the first game against Holland despite Lewandwski missing this game due to injury)
"We have good chances of winning. Robert (Lewandowski) won’t play, but I remember a previous match against Holland which was away in Holland. It was a 2:2 draw and Robert didn’t play either. Well, losing Robert is an enormous loss to us as he is one of the best forwards in the world, but he is missing now and that is a reality and we can’t change it. And we’ll do our best to have a great success.”

STORYLINE:
Poland will have to play at least its opening game at the European Championship against the Netherlands on Sunday without injured star striker Robert Lewandowski.
Poland’s team doctor Jacek Jaroszewski says the Barcelona star has a torn biceps femoris muscle in his right leg from a warmup against Turkey in Warsaw on Monday that Poland won 2-1.
He says “We are doing everything so that Robert can play in the second match against Austria.” In Group D, Poland faces Austria on June 21 at the tournament in Germany before playing France four days later.
