Tens of thousands have been killed and hundreds of thousands have been displaced in Gaza as Israel’s campaign to achieve “total victory” against Hamas continues. Getting out of Gaza is nearly impossible. Even medical evacuations have been rare. Roughly 260 Palestinians left Gaza in the last two months, including patients with serious injuries or chronic diseases. Some are receiving treatment in Romania – one of the few EU countries taking in Palestinians from war torn Gaza. DW’s Senior International Correspondent Fanny Facsar met a family father of four children in Bucharest. Israel did not give permission to the mother to leave Gaza due to "security considerations" — it was not elaborated what that means.
