STORYLINE:
A ceasefire between Israel and the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah appeared to be holding, as residents in cars heaped with belongings streamed back toward southern Lebanon despite warnings from the Israeli and Lebanese military that they stay away from certain areas.
Cars were seen driving back to Beqaa with belongings and mattresses on top of their cars.
Some were holding up peace signs as they passed through Ibleh check point in Bekaa Valley.
"Going back home is the nicest feeling. Thank God we returned victorious with our heads high. Despite all the loss, we are returning with our dignity back to our homes," said Zeina Chehade, a displaced resident returning to Bekaa.
If it holds, the ceasefire would bring an end to nearly 14 months of fighting between Israel and Hezbollah.
