17.Soundbite:Holly Hunter talking about BAFTA nomination:
"it’s the greatest, just the greatest. I’m thrilled to be here. To have this movie translate overseas is a wonderful thing. It is such a small movie , we made it in 22 days with no thought of how many people would see it. And so it’s fantastic that people in England and France and Spain have really loved it."
18. Soundbite Holly Hunter about awards:
""No it’s exciting, period. You know I can’t complain about it, you know, this is rare air so I’m grateful. (Q: Do you put a lot of pressure on yourself to write speeches or dresses?) No. No. With the dresses I plan ahead and I leave the rest up to like fate."
19. Mid shot Denys Arcand (director Barbarian Invasions) arriving.
20. Soundbite Denys Arcand about BAFTA nomination and the film:
"it all feels good, all of it. It is my first time I am just enjoying it. Each time you do a film you just hope for the best, half the time you bomb and the other half hopefully it turns out ok. It is a very emotional film, but again success is unexplainable. If there was a recipe and we knew it we would make only it."
21. B-shot red carpet
22. Tilt up Thandie Newton
23. MS Emma Thompson
24. Soundbite Clive Owen about being at the BAFTAS:
"It is pretty crazy isn’t it, it’s good very good. I think since they shifted the BAFTA’s to pre-Oscars it has sort of livened the whole thing up hasn’t it.
25. Soundbite Clive Owen on how BAFTAs compare to Oscars:
"The countries are very different sizes and this is in proportion to this country, but the BAFTAs have got better and better I think."
26. Soundbite Clive Owen:
"Because it is the British Awards, I think it makes sense to slighlty favour the British European films anyways. Films that are maybe not going to quite as serious a look in at the Oscars. I think that’s probably a good thing. (Q: And all those rumours about James Bond, is there any more clarification?) All rumours. All rumours."
27. Soundbite Thandie Newton talking about the BAFTAs:
"the volume of people, the people from America that are flying over to join the award ceremony, it feels like it is becoming more like the Academy Awards. It is a really big deal. It is the preamble to the Oscars too, it is almost a prediction of what is going to happen there."
28. Soundbite Thandie Newton about future projects:
"I have a fil coming out soon ‘the Chronicles of Riddick’, a big sci-fi; and a couple of smaller films ‘crash’, ‘shade’ and I am also doing a few episodes of ER which I am loving more than anything!"
Also includes soundbite:
"(Q: What are you wearing tonight?) "Something that isn””””t warm enough but it””””s gorgeous, it””””s a Rolland Moret dress, he””””s a genius."
