"We were born and raised in this street. This is our neighbourhood, our people, our neighbours and loved ones. What happened is we were sitting and suddenly we heard a strike. We weren’t aware what is going on, this is it. God let this pass and keep us alright."

"I remember the 2006 war and this guy (Israel) is famous for betraying. In 2006 before the ceasefire, they hit Dahiyeh with a fire belt. Since the equation changed now and they are hitting Beirut, Dahiyeh and all of Lebanon, you can’t trust them. We are expecting that until tomorrow, if there will be a ceasefire deal, they will escalate."

STORYLINE:
Local residents reacted after Israeli jets Tuesday struck a residential building killing 3 and injuring 26 in central Beirut in the Basta area, the second in days.
The strike comes hours before an anticipated ceasefire deal that would end the war between Israel and the Lebanese Hezbollah militant group.
