14. SOUNDBITE Tim Burton (english) including:
"I kind of enjoyed making it cause I couldn’t put it into one sentence so it was enjoyable that it explores different themes and things without the usual standard where you have to describe the movie in one sentence, you couldn’t do that about this which is why I liked it."…AND…
"It helps when you have great actors, it certainly is the thing that makes it work completely so and that’s just mix of tones and trying to just feel, it’s sort of an impressionistic thing and not something that, you know it’s sort a day-by-day basis which makes it fun."
15. Vars Ewan McGregor
16. B-roll Helena Bonham Carter
17. SOUNDBITE Helena Bonham Carter (english) including:
Q:You were not satisfied with one role in this movie? Helena: No, because I slept with the director so he gave me three, but little ones, perhaps next time I’ll sleep with him twice and he’ll give me a bigger part (laughs) but they’re only little wee ones, but they’re good. I didn’t expect to be in it. He just um, infact it was Dick Zenick, it was his idea to put me in it so even when he told me, I was one of the last people to be cast, he said ‘what about Jenny?’ I thought ‘Jenny, Jenny, who is Jenny?’ I went through the script and thought ‘ah Jenny, aged 56’ so I thought thats possibly why I didn’t think instantly ‘ah thats a part for me.’
18. MS Helena Bonham Carter
19. SOUNDBITE Ewan McGregor (english) including:
"It’s more or less exactly as I thought it would be, I mean, because you’re sent a script from Tim Burton it influences your reading of the script, you can, there’s a kind of visual vocabulary that you have having seen Tim’s films so you, it influences the way to read the script, it looks and feels exactly how I thought it might. The big surprise is, not the big surprise at all, but the new side maybe for Tim is the slightly more realistic drama of Albert and Billy Crudup and Jessica Lange that side of the story you know."
20. SOUNDBITE Matthew McGrory (english) including:
"Well at first I didn’t realize that Tim was directing, I read the script and I read it from start to finish, I didn’t put it down, then I found out he was directing it was just icing on the cake."
21. B-roll Alison Lohman
22. B-roll Steve Buscemi
23. MS Steve Buscemi
24. SOUNDBITE Steve Buscemi (english) including:
"No I didn’t know what to expect, this had a lot of fantastic elements to it that I could see him being great at but it also had a real dramatic element to it that I was curious to see how he would handle that and I think he’s done a beautiful job."
25. Vars red carpet
26. B-roll arrival Danny DeVito
27. MS Alison Lohman
28. SOUNDBITE Alison Lohman
29. MS Danny DeVito
30. SOUNDBITE Danny DeVito (english) including:
"You know you have to take you costume off once in a while, you don’t always have to do it on camera but I did, but it’s interesting, it’s fun, I’d never done a nude scene before, it was good, I’m glad I’m not doing it now because it’s pretty cold here."
