STORYLINE:
As people across the U.S. continue preparations for Thanksgiving shoppers in Kentucky said one item of discussion will be off the table when families gather for holiday celebrations: politics.
Donald Trump scored a decisive victory as he beat Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris in this month’s presidential election in a deeply divided nation.
Shoppers in Louisville said they would be keeping the subject of politics out their chats when gathering with their loved ones for Thanksgiving.
Turkey famer, Melina Slaughter, said she and her family never bring up politics during Thanksgiving celebrations.
"It’s about family. It’s about, you know, hanging out with our kids and teaching them how to be thankful and not finding ways to argue," she said.
