COP29: Climate-vulnerable nations walk out of overtime talks | DW News

UN climate talks in Baku, Azerbaijan, are on the verge of collapse after negotiators from small-island and least-developed nations walked out of overtime consultations. Representatives from the Alliance of Small Island States say they came for a fair deal, but their proposals were ignored at the COP29 summit. Wealthy countries initially offered to provide 250 billion dollars per year in a draft proposal. But delegates from dozens of developing countries want at least double that figure.
